I’m excited to introduce Jon Thompson, another speaker in our keynote lineup for Fluid 14!
Jon and I first met when I was prayerfully contemplating the idea of launching a young adult para-church organization. He was one of the few key pastors that encouraged me along this journey and providing some nuggets of wisdom as to how we could effectively minister to the next generation through Fluid.
I’m grateful for his wisdom and preaching ministry. Jon is arguably one of the most gifted communicators and expositors Canada has to offer and I can’t wait for you to hear him preach from Philippians at Fluid this year.
So without further ado, here is a short bio of Jon:
Jon Thompson serves as the Preaching and Vision Pastor at C4 Church based in Ajax, Ontario. This is a regional church with a community that gathers from all over the eastern suburbs of Toronto with an average weekend attendance of 1200 and currently experiencing quick growth. Under Jon’s leadership, C4 is characterized by dynamic Biblical teaching, vibrant community groups, compelling media and powerful times in worship.
Jon joined C4 Church as a teenager after returning to Canada from his childhood years in Ecuador as the only child of missionary parents. He was later hired on as the C4 Youth Pastor before assuming his current role 8 years ago on the Pastoral Lead Team. With an insatiable love for learning, Jon has a Masters of Theological Studies from Tyndale Seminary, Toronto and a Doctorate of Missiology from Fuller Seminary, California.
Jon loves the local church, as expressed around the globe. He’s visited 40 countries for missions and travel. His passion is following after Christ and seeing the Church rise up in diversity, holiness, and freedom.
When not immersed in leadership, prayer, and theology textbooks at C4, Jon’s most important roles include Husband to his wife Joanna and Father to three kids- Hannah (6), Emma (4), and Noah (2). As a family they are fond of great thai food, strong coffee, the latest technology gadgets, trips to the East Coast, concerts, and Netflix.
